Discovering Victoria’s Charms is a photographic competition with a total of eight categories, designed to suit all photographic styles.
Victorian Minister for Tourism and Major Events, the Hon Tim Holding MP, will select the overall winner from the eight category winners.
Each category winner will be announced in the May issue of Travelling in Australia Magazine. Their images will be published as part of a set of eight postcards mounted on the cover of that issue of the magazine. The images will also be made available as a set of e-cards and showcased at the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE), in June of 2009.
The overall winner shall receive a Mt Hotham weekend ski holiday for themselves and nine of their closest buddies (valued at $5610). They’ll stay at the luxurious ski-in/ ski-out Outside Edge chalet and Mt Hotham’s even thrown in weekend ski passes for the whole gang!
1.1 Entry is open to all readers of Travelling in Australia Magazine (TIAM), regardless of country of residency.
1.2 Entrants must specify on their entry form which category they wish to be considered for.
1.3 All entries must have been taken within the Australian State of Victoria.
1.4 Entries must be the original work of the entrant. No third party may enter on behalf of an individual.
1.5 All entries are encouraged to send in a 50-word artist statement with their photograph. By signing the entry form, entrants give TIAM permission to edit the statement.
1.6 Any entry depicting people must include permission from the subject(s). Entrant must be able to produce evidence of such permission if required.
2.1 All entries must be accompanied by a completed official entry form found at www.travellinginaustralia.com.au
2.2 Entries will only be accepted electronically and must be sent to tiam@morrisonmedia.com.au. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
2.3 Images files must be available as high res files (min 300 dpi) and must not exceed 5 meg in size per email.
2.4 Images must have file names that begin with the name of the photographer and end with the entry category number.
2.5 Personal information provided in the entry form will not be disclosed without your consent for any other purpose unless required by the law.
2.6 Competition promoter is Morrison Media Services.
3.1 All entries will be judged by a panel who will consider elements of creativity and originality. There will only be one winner in each
Category and one overall winner, who will be selected by the Minister for Tourism and Major Events, the Hon Tim Holding MP.
3.2 Winners will be announced online at www.travellinginaustralia.com.au in mid-May 2009.
3.3 Prizes are as stated and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash or goods.
3.4 The decision of the judges will be final.
3.5 Short-listed entries in all categories will be notified by phone, letter or email.
3.6 Employees and contractors of Morrison Media may enter the awards, however they will not be eligible for prizes.
4.1 Selected prints will be exhibited at the Australian Tourism Exchange conference in June 2009. They will also be produced as a set of eight print and electronic postcards which credit the photographer.
4.2 Entrants whose photographs are selected for the exhibition will be notified by letter or email.
4.3 TIAM reserves the right to refuse to display any entry deemed unsuitable for public exhibition.
5.1 By completing the entry form and agreeing to the terms and conditions, the photographer grants TIAM, Tourism Victoria and exhibition organisers, a license to reproduce their image.
