CAE is the Alice Springs Indigenous Tourism Hub and is working with a number of Aboriginal-owned tourism businesses offering products in the region. These experiences include art workshops and galleries, visiting rock-art sites, cultural awareness tours and a variety of other experiences showcasing Aboriginal culture in the region.

RT Tours Australia

Established in 2004, RT Tours Australia offers Aboriginal guided day, evening and extended touring options. A local Arrernte man, owner Robert Taylor takes clients on a journey through outback Australia engaging with authentic Aboriginal culture. The highlight is fresh, gourmet cuisine and
visitors can experience this ancient land with Robert’s outstanding first-hand knowledge of its natural and cultural values. The Mbantua Gourmet Lunch Tour focuses on bush food, Aboriginal culture and Dreamtime and the beauty of the land. The tour includes a short walk and some sampling
of bush food, followed by a delicious meal with home-baked food in a bush barbecue setting and a relaxed chat about Aboriginal culture. Set in spectacular Simpson’s Gap National Park, The Mbantua Sunset and Starlight Bush Dinner is a three-course bush meal under the stars around an open wood fire. Offering a spectacular Red Centre sunset along the Western MacDonnell Ranges, guests will enjoy an afternoon walk, learn about bush foods and medicines and over dinner discuss Aboriginal culture, the stars and spot lightning. Jungala Enterprises

Jungala Enterprises is Aboriginal owned and operated and offers Aboriginal touring experiences in Central Australia. Jungala spent his earliest years in the bush before travelling extensively overseas working in tourism and presenting art and cultural workshops. In 2006, Jungala Enterprises Pty Ltd commenced trading in Australian Aboriginal art and Indigenous tourism.

Jungala’s tours include the Dot Painted Mountain Bike Experience and the Larapinta Culture Trek, which operate around the Alice Springs area. The Dot Painted Mountain Bike Experience is a half-day mountain-bike tour that will leave lasting impressions and offers a real insight into the history of Alice Springs. Including morning or afternoon tea, guests will learn first-hand the cultural significance of this region and associated stories from someone who knows the land and has experienced life within the culture.

The one or seven day-Larapinta Culture Treks includes spectacular scenery with in-depth Aboriginal insight. A trek unique to Jungala, this authentic experience is related to the land and the natural environment. Incorporating cultural interaction with traditional owners and homelands this tour provides clients with a deeper, richer experience of Australian and Indigenous culture.
